WintrolSales.com is a division of Wintrol, Inc. Wintrol has roots stretching back four generations in the hardware industry. In the 1860's Anton Holter, great grandfather of company founder and President William Holter Birmingham, walked into the then Montana Territory just as gold was being discovered. "A.M." was a visionary, and he quickly realized that that the prospectors streaming into the gold rich gulches of Montana needed everything from picks and shovels to tents and timber. He began by setting up the first steam powered saw mill in Montana Territory and supplied timbers for the mines of Virginia City. Building on the success of this venture he went on to establish A.M. Holter Hardware, a wholesale and retail hardware distribution business which spanned the Pacific Northwest and operated continuously for almost 100 years until 1962.

In 1962 the descendents of A.M. Holter made the decision to close the hardware distribution business. But that was not to be the end of the family's involvement in the hardware industry.
In 1984 company founder William "Bill" Birmingham, his brother David Birmingham and a third partner, Ralph Yuhas formed Wintrol, a new company dedicated to developing, manufacturing, and marketing a new product invented by Bill and Ralph - The Wintrol Power Operator for Windows and Skylights. Later Bill and Ralph would receive a US Patent for their invention. And they and Wintrol would go on to do research and development on new products for several of the window industries top companies.
In the 1990's Wintrol, Inc. and Truth worked together to develop a new product line. The combination of Wintrol's intellectual property and Truth's manufacturing and engineering expertise yielded the Sentry 2000 Window Operator as well as Electric locks for windows. Thus began a long standing relationship between Wintrol and Truth which has now developed into a new and revolutionary method for delivering Truth Hardware online to manufacturers of all sizes with 21st century efficiency and cost control.
